Making Up Missed Prayers

SUMMARY: Whoever catches up with a Rak'ah of one of the prayers has caught up with it, except that he has to make up the portion that he missed.

It was narrated from Salim that the Messenger of Allah said: "Whoever catches up with a Rak'ah of one of the prayers has caught up with it, except that he has to make up the portion that he missed".

QUICK LESSONS:
Catchup on missed parts in prayer
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about making up for missed prayers. It teaches us that if we miss any part of our prayer, we should make it up afterwards. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that whoever catches up with a rak’ah of one of the prayers has caught up with it, except they have to make up the portion they missed. This means that if someone misses any part of their prayer, they must complete what was left out in order to fulfill their obligation as Muslims. It is important for us to remember this and take responsibility for our own actions when it comes to fulfilling our religious duties.
