Praying in Hot and Cold Weather

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) would wait until it cooled down to pray when it was hot, and hasten to pray when it was cold.

Khalid bin Dinar Abu Khaldah said: "I heard Anas bin Malik say: 'When it was hot, the Messenger of Allah would wait until it cooled down to pray, and when it was cold he would hasten to pray'."

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was mindful of the conditions of his environment while praying. He would wait until it cooled down to pray when it was hot outside and hasten to pray when it was cold outside. This shows us that we should be mindful of our environment while praying as well; if we are too hot or too cold, we should adjust our prayer accordingly so that we can focus on worshipping Allah without any distractions from our physical discomfort. We can also learn from this hadith that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) prioritized his worship over his comfort; he did not let anything get in the way of him fulfilling his religious obligations even if he felt uncomfortable due to extreme temperatures.
