Revelation Changes Prayer Direction

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the revelation that came to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and how it changed the direction of prayer from Ash-Sham to Ka'bah.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: "While the people were in Quba', praying the Subh prayer, someone came to them and said that revelation had come to the Messenger of Allah the night before, and he has been commanded to face the Ka'bah. So they turned around, and they has been facing toward Ash-Sham, but now they turned to face toward the Ka'bah".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith narrates an event that happened when people were in Quba', praying the Subh prayer. A person came and informed them that a revelation had come to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This revelation commanded them to face towards the Ka’bah instead of facing towards Ash-Sham. So they turned around and faced towards the Ka’bah as instructed by Allah through His messenger. This incident shows us how important it is for us to obey Allah's commands without any hesitation or delay. It also teaches us that we should always be ready for change if it comes from Allah because He knows what is best for us even if we don't understand why something has been changed or altered at first glance.
