EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith narrates the story of how the qiblah, or direction Muslims face when they pray, was changed from Bait al Maqdis in Jerusalem to Makkah. It was narrated by Al Bara’ that he and the Messenger of Allah prayed towards Jerusalem for sixteen or seventeen months before it was changed to face towards Makkah. This change in qibla symbolizes a shift in focus for Muslims away from other religions and towards Islam as their main source of guidance and worship. It also serves as a reminder that all Muslims should strive to be unified under one faith, regardless of their geographical location or cultural background.
