This hadith highlights the importance of prayer in Islam. It is narrated by Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said that when a person is brought to account, their salah will be the first thing they are judged on. If it is complete, then all is well and good, but if not, Allah will look to see if they have done any voluntary prayers as a way to make up for any shortcomings in their obligatory prayers.
