Refusing a Towel After Ghusl

SUMMARY: Maimunah offered water to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and he performed Ghusl, but refused a cloth afterwards.

It was narrated that Maimunah said: "I put some water out for the Messenger of Allah , then I concealed him" - and she mentioned how he performed Ghusl, then she said: "Then I brought him a cloth (a towel) but he did not want it".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) humility and modesty. Maimunah offered water to the Prophet for him to perform his ritual ablution, known as ghusl. After performing ghusl, she offered him a cloth or towel but he refused it. This shows that even though he was a prophet of Allah, he still showed humility and modesty in his actions by not wanting any extra luxuries or comforts that were not necessary for him at that time. It also teaches us to be humble in our own lives and not take more than what we need from others or from life itself.
