The Value of Modesty in Ghusl

SUMMARY: Allah loves modesty and concealment, and one should be modest when performing Ghusl.

It was narrated from Ya'la that the Messenger of Allah saw a man performing Ghusl in an open place, so he ascended the Minbar and praised and glorified Allah, then he said: 'Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, is forbearing, modest and concealing, and He loves modesty and concealment. When any one of you performs Ghusl, let him conceal himself'."

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of modesty and concealment when performing Ghusl, which is a ritual washing that Muslims do to cleanse themselves before prayer. The Prophet Muhammad saw a man performing this ritual in an open place, so he ascended the Minbar to remind people that Allah loves modesty and concealment. He was teaching us that we should be modest even when we are doing something as simple as washing ourselves for prayer. We should not draw attention to ourselves or show off our actions; instead, we should strive to keep our actions private and humble. This hadith teaches us the value of humility in all aspects of life, including religious practices like Ghusl.
