The Prophet's Wudu and Ghusl Rituals

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to perform wudu and ghusl with a certain number of cups.

It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin Jabr said: "I heard Anas bin Malik say: 'The Messenger of Allah used to perform Wudu' with a Makkuk (cup) and Ghusl with five Makkuks (cups)'."
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَبْرٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ، يَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ يَتَوَضَّأُ بِمَكُّوكٍ وَيَغْتَسِلُ بِخَمْسَةِ مَكَاكِيَّ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the rituals of ablution and bath that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to perform. It was narrated by 'Abdullah bin Jabr who heard it from Anas bin Malik. According to this hadith, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to perform wudu with a cup called Makkuk and ghusl with five cups of Makkuks. Wudu is an Islamic ritual for washing certain parts of the body before prayer while ghusl is a full-body ritual bath performed after certain activities such as sexual intercourse or menstruation.
