SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught us to ask Allah to forgive our sins with the water of snow and hail.

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "The Messenger of Allah would say: 1 'Allahummaghsil khatayaya bi-ma'ith-thalj wal-barad (O Allah, wash away my sins with the water of snow and hail)'." 1 That is at the beginning of Salah as is clear from the remainder of the narration which preceded under #60.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about seeking forgiveness from Allah through prayer. The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, taught us that we can ask Allah to wash away our sins with the water of snow and hail. This is a reminder for us that no matter how many mistakes we make, if we sincerely repent and turn back to Him, He will forgive us. We should always strive to do good deeds in order to gain His pleasure, but when we fall short or make mistakes, it's important for us to remember that He is always ready to forgive us if we sincerely seek His forgiveness.
