QUICK LESSONS:
Perform rituals of purification when water is not available
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the ritual of purification known as Tayammum. It was narrated by 'Ammar bin Yasir that he and the Prophet Muhammad performed this ritual using dust. In this ritual, they wiped their faces and arms up to their shoulders with the dust. This shows us that even in times when water is not available for ablution or wudu, we can still perform a form of purification through Tayammum. It also teaches us to be resourceful in difficult situations and use whatever resources are available to us in order to fulfill our religious obligations.
