EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Asma' bint Abi Bakr tells us about the instructions given by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to a woman regarding cleaning menstrual blood from her clothes. He instructed her to scratch it off first and then rub it with water and sprinkle water over it. This shows us that even though menstruation is considered impure in Islam, we should still treat our clothes with respect and take care of them when cleaning them. It also teaches us that we should be mindful of our environment and not waste water unnecessarily. Furthermore, this hadith also shows us that even during times of impurity such as menstruation, one can still pray in their clothing if they are unable to change into clean clothing due to lack of resources or time constraints.
