Wudu and Cleanliness

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) would perform wudu if he wanted to sleep while in a state of ritual impurity, and would wash his hands before eating or drinking.

It was narrated from Abu Salamah that 'Aishah said: "If the Messenger of Allah wanted to sleep while he was Junub, he would perform Wudu', and if he wanted to eat or drink," she said: "he would wash his hands and then eat or drink".
