Physical Characteristics of a Child Determined by Parental Water Breaking

SUMMARY: The hadith explains that the physical characteristics of a child are determined by which parent's water breaks first during childbirth.

It was narrated that Anas said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'The man's water is thick and white, and the woman's water is thin and yellow. Whichever of them comes first, the child will resemble (that parent)'."
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ مَاءُ الرَّجُلِ غَلِيظٌ أَبْيَضُ وَمَاءُ الْمَرْأَةِ رَقِيقٌ أَصْفَرُ فَأَيُّهُمَا سَبَقَ كَانَ الشَّبَهُ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains that the physical characteristics of a child are determined by which parent's water breaks first during childbirth. According to this hadith, if the father's water breaks first, then the child will resemble him in terms of physical features. On the other hand, if it is the mother's water that breaks first, then the child will resemble her in terms of physical features. This is an important teaching as it shows us how Allah has created us and how He has given us certain traits and characteristics from our parents. It also teaches us to be grateful for what we have been given and to appreciate our parents for their contribution in making us who we are today.
