Sunan an-Nasai 165 (Book 1, Hadith 166) #14772
Touching Private Parts During Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that touching one's private parts during prayer is a minor issue and should not be taken too seriously.

It was narrated that Talq bin 'Ali said: "We went out as a delegation and when we arrived with the Messenger of Allah he accepted our oath of allegiance and we prayed with him. When he had finished the prayer, a man who looked like a Bedouin came to him and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what do you think about a man who touched his penis during the Salah?' He said: 'It is just a part of you,' or 'a piece of you'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Approach religious matters with humility and understanding rather than judgement or condemnation. Strive to emulate Allah's forgiveness and mercy in our own lives when dealing with others who may have made mistakes or done something wrong.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the importance of humility and understanding in religious practice. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was asked about a man who touched his private parts during prayer and he responded with compassion and understanding. He said that it was just a part of the person or a piece of them, indicating that it was not something to be overly concerned about or ashamed of. This teaches us to approach religious matters with humility and understanding rather than judgement or condemnation. We should also remember that Allah is forgiving and merciful so we should strive to emulate this in our own lives when dealing with others who may have made mistakes or done something wrong.
