Sunan an-Nasai 133 (Book 1, Hadith 134) #14740
The Prophet's Deliberate Action

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) performed Wudu' for every prayer, but on the day of the Conquest of Makkah he did something different and 'Umar noticed it.

It was narrated from Ibn Buraidah that his father said: "The Messenger of Allah used to perform Wudu' for every prayer. One the day of the Conquest (of Makkah), he offered all the prayers with one Wudu''.Umar said to him: 'You have done something that you never did before'. He said: 'I did that deliberately, O 'Umar'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Think before you act and consider how your actions will affect others around you .
EXPLANATIONS:
On the day of the Conquest of Makkah, Prophet Muhammad PBUH did something that was out of character for him. He performed all five prayers with one ablution instead of performing a new ablution for each prayer as he usually did. When 'Umar noticed this change in behavior, he asked why and the Prophet replied that he had done it deliberately. This hadith teaches us to be mindful and deliberate in our actions; to think before we act and consider how our actions will affect others around us. It also shows us that even though we may have certain habits or routines, there are times when it is necessary to break them in order to achieve a greater good or purpose.
