QUICK LESSONS:
Perform ritual ablutions according to Islamic teachings
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the importance of ritual ablution in Islam. It was narrated by Ja'far bin 'Amr bin Umayyah Ad-Damri that his father saw the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) performing wudu and wiping over his khuffs. Wudu is a ritual cleansing performed before prayer or any other religious activity. It involves washing certain parts of the body such as hands, face, arms and feet with water. Khuff is a type of leather sock which covers the feet up to ankles when performing wudu. According to this hadith, it is permissible to wipe over one's khuff instead of washing them during wudu if they are worn at that time. This shows us how important it is for Muslims to perform their religious duties with cleanliness and purity according to Islamic teachings.
