The Prophet's Water Ritual

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was seen pouring water into his hands until it dripped three times.

It was narrated from (Aws bin) Abi Aws that his grandfather said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah trickle water into his hand until it started to drip from his hand, three times".
أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، - وَهُوَ ابْنُ حَبِيبٍ - عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي أَوْسٍ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ اسْتَوْكَفَ ثَلاَثًا

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the ritual of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, when he would pour water into his hands until it started to drip from them three times. This ritual was done by the Prophet as a way to purify himself before prayer and other acts of worship. It is a reminder for us that we should always strive to keep ourselves clean and pure in order to be closer to Allah. We should also remember that even small acts of worship can have great rewards if done with sincerity and dedication. Furthermore, this hadith teaches us that we should take care of our physical hygiene as well as our spiritual hygiene in order to live a balanced life pleasing both Allah and ourselves.
