Sunan an-Nasai 41 (Book 1, Hadith 41) #14647
Manners in the Toilet

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) taught us to be mindful of our manners when going to the toilet, such as not facing the Qiblah, not using our right hands and using at least three stones.

It was narrated that Salman said, that a man said to him: "Your companion (meaning, the Prophet) even teaches you how to go to the toilet!" He said: "Yes, he forbade us from facing the Qiblah when defecating or urinating, or cleaning ourselves with out right hands, or to use less than three stones".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how we should behave when going to the toilet. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that we should not face the Qibla while relieving ourselves, use less than three stones for cleaning and avoid using our right hand. These teachings are important because they remind us of cleanliness and respect for Allah's house. We must remember that even though it is a private matter, it is still important to maintain good manners and respect for Allah's house. Additionally, by using more than two stones we can ensure that all areas are cleaned properly which will help keep us healthy and hygienic.
