Seeking Forgiveness Instead of Reviling

QUICK LESSONS:
Seek Forgiveness from Allah and revere those who are close to Him such as His companions. Show respect and kindness towards others even if you disagree with their views or actions .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about seeking forgiveness and avoiding reviling. It was reported by 'Urwa ibn az-Zubayr, on the authority of his father that 'A'isha said to him that Muslims were commanded to seek forgiveness for the Companions of Allah's Apostle but they instead reviled them. The term "Istighfar" in Arabic means seeking forgiveness from Allah and "Ta'azzaz" means to revere or honor someone. This hadith teaches us that we should always seek forgiveness from Allah and revere those who are close to Him, such as His companions. We should not be disrespectful or rude towards them even if we disagree with their views or actions; rather we should show respect and kindness towards them as this is what Islam teaches us.
