Ibn Mas'ud said: Since our acceptance of Islam and the revelation of this verse in which Allah has shown annoyance to us:" Has not the time yet come for the believers that their hearts should be humble for the remembrance of Allah?" (LVII. 16), there was a gap of four years.
The values taught by this hadith are humility, obedience, and reverence towards God. These values are essential components for any believer striving towards closeness with God through prayer and worship. By humbling our hearts before Him we show our respect and appreciation for His greatness while also demonstrating our commitment to following His commands without hesitation or doubt. Additionally, it teaches us that we must take responsibility for our actions if we wish to remain in good standing with Him; neglecting such an important aspect can lead us astray from His path if left unchecked or ignored altogether.
