Restraining Yawns

SUMMARY: Yawning is from the devil and one should try to restrain it.

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger as saying: The yawning as from the devil. So when one of you yawns he should try to restrain it as far as it lies in his power.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، وَقُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ السَّعْدِيُّ، قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، - يَعْنُونَ ابْنَ جَعْفَرٍ - عَنِ الْعَلاَءِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏ "‏ التَّثَاؤُبُ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ فَإِذَا تَثَاءَبَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَكْظِمْ مَا اسْتَطَاعَ

EXPLANATIONS:
According to this hadith, yawning is from the devil and one should try to restrain it as much as possible. This hadith teaches us that we should be mindful of our actions and not let the devil influence us in any way. We must strive to control our actions and not give in to any temptations or desires that may lead us astray. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ also taught us that we must be aware of our surroundings and take precautions against anything that could potentially harm us, such as yawning which can be a sign of fatigue or laziness. By restraining ourselves from yawning, we are showing self-control which is an important part of being a Muslim.
