Think before you speak, be mindful of your words, avoid careless speech.

This hadith warns us about the consequences of speaking without understanding. It is reported by Abu Huraira that Allah's Messenger said that if a servant speaks words that he does not understand, he will sink down in Hell-Fire farther than the distance between the east and the west. This means that if we speak without thinking or understanding what we are saying, it can have serious repercussions for us in this life and beyond.
