Warning of Turmoil from the East

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) warned of turmoil coming from the east and repeated it twice or thrice.

Ibn 'Umar reported that Allah's Messenger stood by the door (of the apartment of) Hafsa and, pointing towards the east, he said: The turmoil would appear from this side, viz. where the horns of Satan would appear, and he uttered these words twice or thrice and 'Ubaidullah b. Sa'id in his narration said: The Messenger of Allah had been standing by the door of 'A'isha.
حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، وَحَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ، سَعِيدٍ كُلُّهُمْ عَنْ يَحْيَى الْقَطَّانِ، قَالَ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ، عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَامَ عِنْدَ بَابِ حَفْصَةَ فَقَالَ بِيَدِهِ نَحْوَ الْمَشْرِقِ ‏ "‏ الْفِتْنَةُ هَا هُنَا مِنْ حَيْثُ يَطْلُعُ قَرْنُ الشَّيْطَانِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَهَا مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلاَثًا ‏.‏ وَقَالَ عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ فِي رِوَايَتِهِ قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ عِنْدَ بَابِ عَائِشَةَ

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ warned his companions about a great turmoil that would come from the east. He repeated this warning twice or thrice to emphasize its importance. This hadith is a reminder for us to be aware of any signs of fitnah, which is an Arabic word meaning chaos, confusion, and disorder. It can also refer to trials and tribulations that test our faith in Allah SWT. We should always be prepared for such events by strengthening our faith in Allah SWT and following His commands so that we can remain steadfast during times of difficulty.
