Sahih Muslim 2876c (Book 53, Hadith 96) #14280
The Thorough Reckoning

SUMMARY: Allah's Messenger is teaching that one should not be too confident in their deeds, as they will be thoroughly examined and judged by Allah.

'A'isha reported Allah's Apostle as saying: Everyone who is reckoned thoroughly is undone. I said: Allah's Messenger, has Allah not called (reckoning) as easy reckoning? Thereupon he said. It implies only presentation of (one's deeds to Him), but if one is thoroughly examined in reckoning, he in fact is undone.

QUICK LESSONS:
Strive for good deeds and make sure they meet the standards of Allah so He may accept them on the Day of Judgement.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that we should not be too confident in our deeds, as we will all face a thorough reckoning from Allah. We must present our deeds to Him and He will examine them closely. We must remember that no matter how good we think our deeds are, if they are not up to the standard of Allah then they will not be accepted. Therefore, it is important for us to strive to do good deeds and make sure that they meet the standards of Allah so that He may accept them on the Day of Judgment.
