Splitting of the Moon

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) split the moon into two parts and asked people to bear witness to it.

Abu Ma'mar reported on the authority of Abdullah that the moon was split up during lifetime by Allah's Messenger in two parts and Allah's Messenger said: Bear testimony to this.
حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ، وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي، نَجِيحٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ انْشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِشِقَّتَيْنِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ اشْهَدُوا

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a miraculous event that happened during the lifetime of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It is reported that he split the moon into two parts and asked people to bear witness to it. This event was a sign from Allah SWT that showed His power and greatness. It also serves as an example of how powerful Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was in his lifetime. He was able to perform miracles like this one which showed his status as a messenger of Allah SWT. This hadith also teaches us about faith in Allah SWT and His messengers, as well as obedience towards them. We should always strive to have faith in what they say even if we don’t understand it or can’t see it with our own eyes because we know that Allah SWT has given them special powers which are beyond our understanding.
