Seek repentance when you have done something wrong; Be humble when asking for forgiveness; Seek guidance from knowledgeable people in matters of faith and religion; Ask Allah for forgiveness.

A person came to the Prophet and confessed that he had committed a sin, such as kissing or touching someone inappropriately. The Prophet asked him what his expiation should be, and it was at this time that Allah revealed a verse from the Quran about seeking forgiveness from Him. This hadith teaches us that we must always seek repentance when we have done something wrong, as only Allah can forgive us for our sins. We must also remember to be humble when asking for forgiveness, as humility is an important part of repentance.
