The Power of Patience in Supplication

SUMMARY: Supplications are granted if one does not become impatient and give up.

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger as saying: The supplication of one of you is granted if he does not grow impatient and say- I supplicated my Lord but it was not granted.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the power of patience when it comes to supplicating to Allah. It teaches us that we should never give up on our supplications and be patient with them. We should not become impatient and think that our supplications will not be answered because Allah always answers them in His own time. We must have faith that He will answer our prayers and remain patient until He does so.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that patience is a virtue when it comes to making du’as or supplications to Allah SWT. He said that if we do not grow impatient then our du’as will be answered by Him in His own time. This means that we must have faith in Him and trust Him even if it takes longer than expected for our du’as to be answered as He knows best what is good for us at any given time. Therefore, this hadith encourages us to remain patient with all of our du’as no matter how long they take as eventually they will be answered by Allah SWT according to His plan for us which is always the best plan for us even if we cannot see it right away.
