Remembering Allah in Everyday Life

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the importance of praising Allah and remembering Him in all aspects of life, even when going to bed and waking up.

Al-Bara' reported that whenever Allah's Messenger went to bed, he said: " O Allah, it is with Thine Name that I live and it is with Thine Name that I die". And when he got up he used to say:" Praise is due to Allah, Who gave us life after our death (sleep) and unto Thee is resurrection".

QUICK LESSONS:
Remembering God at all times

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith highlights the importance of remembering Allah in all aspects of life. Whenever Prophet Muhammad went to bed he would say "O Allah it is with Thine Name that I live and it is with Thine Name that I die". Similarly when he woke up he would say "Praise is due to Allah Who gave us life after our death". This shows how important it was for him to remember God at all times. It also teaches us that we should be grateful for the blessings we have been given by God such as life and resurrection. We should always remember Him no matter what situation we are in or what time of day it is.
