Pay your dues with fairness and justice

This hadith talks about the importance of paying zakat in a fair manner. It was narrated by Anas ibn Malik that Abu Bakr wrote to him what was made compulsory by Allah's Messenger regarding the payments of zakat. He mentioned that neither the property of different people should be taken together nor the joint property should be split for fear of paying more or receiving less zakat. This hadith teaches us to pay our dues with fairness and justice so that no one is wronged or taken advantage off. It also emphasizes on being honest and truthful when dealing with money matters as it is an important part of our faith as Muslims.
