Requesting Death is Discouraged

SUMMARY: Making a request for death is discouraged.

Nadr b. Anas reported, as when Anas was alive, that he said: Had Allah's Messenger not stated this".. None should make a request for death," I would have definitely done that.

QUICK LESSONS:
Accept whatever comes with patience and faith in Allah's plan .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith, narrated by Nadr b. Anas, speaks of the discouragement of making a request for death. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was alive when this was said and he stated that no one should make such a request as it is not something to be taken lightly or desired. It is important to remember that life and death are both in the hands of Allah and we should not take matters into our own hands or wish for something that we do not know the consequences of. We must accept whatever comes our way with patience and faith in Allah's plan for us, as He knows best what will benefit us in this life and the hereafter.
