Sahih Muslim 2680a (Book 48, Hadith 10) #13887
The Goodness of Life and Death

SUMMARY: This hadith is about not wishing for death due to hardships, but instead asking Allah to keep us alive as long as there is goodness in life and bring death when there is goodness in it.

Anas (b. Malik) reported Allah's Messenger as saying. None of you should make a request for death because of the trouble in which he is involved, but if there is no other help to it, then say: O Allah, keep me alive as long as there is goodness in life for me and bring death to me when there is goodness in death for me.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that we should not wish for death due to the troubles we face in life, but instead ask Allah to keep us alive as long as there is goodness in life and bring death when there is goodness in it. We should trust that Allah knows what's best for us and will provide us with the best outcome no matter what situation we are facing. We should also remember that both life and death have their own blessings, so we should be grateful for whatever comes our way.
