Sahih Muslim 2658d (Book 46, Hadith 36) #13831
Nurturing Innate Goodness in Children

SUMMARY: Every child is born with an innate disposition to be good and righteous, and it is the responsibility of parents to nurture this disposition.

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger as saying: No child is born but upon Fitra. He then said. Recite: The nature made by Allah in which He created man, there is no altering of Allah's nature; that is the right religion".

Recognize a child's fitra; Teach your child about religion and morality; Guide your child on the right path; Accept your child for who they are.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of nurturing a child’s innate goodness. It states that every child is born with a natural inclination towards righteousness, known as fitra. Parents should recognize this fitra and help their children develop it by teaching them about religion and morality. The hadith also mentions that Allah has created humans with an unchangeable nature, which implies that parents should not try to change their children’s personalities or force them into certain behaviors; rather they should accept their children for who they are while guiding them on the right path.
