Rewarded for Kindness

SUMMARY: Doing small acts of kindness can be rewarded by Allah.

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger as saying: While a person was going along the path he found a thorny branch upon it. He pushed it to a side and Allah approved (this action) of his and (as a mark of appreciation) granted him pardon.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ عَنْ سُمَىٍّ، مَوْلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي، صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ ‏ "‏ بَيْنَمَا رَجُلٌ يَمْشِي بِطَرِيقٍ وَجَدَ غُصْنَ شَوْكٍ عَلَى الطَّرِيقِ فَأَخَّرَهُ فَشَكَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ فَغَفَرَ لَهُ

This hadith is about the importance of doing small acts of kindness. It tells us that even if we do something as simple as pushing a thorny branch out of the way on a path, Allah will reward us for it. This teaches us to always be kind and generous in our actions because even the smallest act can be appreciated by Allah and result in great rewards. We should strive to do good deeds and help others whenever we can so that we may receive blessings from Allah.
