Treat everyone with respect and kindness regardless of their religion or background

This hadith speaks to the consequences of oppressing or tormenting people in the world. It was reported by 'Urwa b. Zubair that Hisham b. Hakim found a person who was detaining some Nabateans in connection with the dues of Jizya, which is a tax imposed on non-Muslims living under Muslim rule for protection from outside forces. When Hisham asked what this was about, he heard Allah's Messenger say that Allah would punish those who torment people in this world.
