Sahih al-Bukhari 1423 (Book 24, Hadith 27) #1367
The Seven People Rewarded by Allah

SUMMARY: This hadith speaks of seven people who will be rewarded by Allah for their good deeds and piety.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (pbuh) said, "Seven people will be shaded by Allah under His shade on the day when there will be no shade except His. They are: I a just ruler; II a young man who has been brought up in the worship of Allah, (ie worship Allah (Alone) sincerely from his childhood), III a man whose heart is attached to the mosque (who offers the five compulsory congregational prayers in the mosque); IV two persons who love each other only for Allah's sake and they meet and part in Allah's cause only; V a man who refuses the call of a charming woman of noble birth for an illegal sexual intercourse with her and says: I am afraid of Allah; VI a person who practices charity so secretly that his left hand does not know what his right hand has given (ie nobody knows how much he has given in charity). VII a person who remembers Allah in seclusion and his eyes get flooded with tears".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of seven people who will be rewarded by Allah for their good deeds and piety. These people are a just ruler; a young man who has been brought up in the worship of Allah; a man whose heart is attached to the mosque; two persons who love each other only for Allah's sake and they meet and part in Allah's cause only; a man who refuses the call of a charming woman of noble birth for an illegal sexual intercourse with her and says "I am afraid of Allah"; a person who practices charity so secretly that his left hand does not know what his right hand has given; and finally someone who remembers Allah in seclusion and his eyes get flooded with tears. All these people will be shaded under the shade of God on the day when there is no shade except His. This hadith teaches us that we should strive to do good deeds such as worshipping God sincerely from childhood, attending prayers at mosques regularly, loving others solely out of devotion to God, abstaining from sinful acts out fear for God’s punishment, giving charity without expecting any reward or recognition from anyone else but God Himself as well as remembering Him in solitude which can bring about tears due to its intensity.
