Sahih Muslim 2564a (Book 45, Hadith 40) #13618
Brotherhood Among Muslims

SUMMARY: Muslims should treat each other with respect, kindness and brotherhood, and not oppress or humiliate one another.

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger as saying: Don't nurse grudge and don't bid him out for raising the price and don't nurse aversion or enmity and don't enter into a transaction when the others have entered into that transaction and be as fellow-brothers and servants of Allah. A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim. He neither oppresses him nor humiliates him nor looks down upon him. The piety is here, (and while saying so) he pointed towards his chest thrice. It is a serious evil for a Muslim that he should look down upon his brother Muslim. All things of a Muslim are inviolable for his brother in faith: his blood, his wealth and his honour.

QUICK LESSONS:

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith emphasizes the importance of brotherhood among Muslims. It teaches us that we should treat each other with respect, kindness and compassion. We should not nurse grudges against one another or bid out for raising prices when others have already entered into a transaction. We must remember that all things of a Muslim are inviolable for his brother in faith - his blood, wealth and honour - so we must never look down upon our fellow brothers in Islam. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) also pointed to his chest three times to emphasize the importance of piety as it is essential for maintaining good relationships between Muslims.
