SUMMARY: People should be careful when selecting companions as some may not be suitable.

Ibn 'Umar reported Allah's Messenger as saying: You would find people like one hundred camels and you would not find even one (camel) fit for riding.

QUICK LESSONS:
Take your time in selecting companions carefully; Choose wisely; Associate with those who have similar values as yours; Look for good influences on yourself.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about being careful when selecting companions. It is narrated by Ibn Umar who was a companion of the Prophet Muhammad and it states that one should be like a hundred camels but only find one suitable for riding. This means that even though there are many people around us, we should take our time to select the right ones to associate with. We must choose wisely and carefully because not everyone will have the same values or beliefs as us and some may not even be suitable for us to associate with at all. The lesson here is that we must take our time in choosing friends and associates so that we can ensure they are good influences on us and help us stay on the right path in life.
