Entering Paradise

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) entered Paradise and heard the noise of steps. He asked who it was and was told it was Ghumaisa, daughter of Milhan, the mother of Anas b. Malik.

Anas reported that Allah's Apostle said: I entered Paradise and heard the noise of steps. I said: Who is it? They said: She is Ghumaisa, daughter of Milhan, the mother of Anas b. Malik.
وَحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرٌ، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ السَّرِيِّ - حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ قَالَ ‏ "‏ دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَسَمِعْتُ خَشْفَةً فَقُلْتُ مَنْ هَذَا قَالُوا هَذِهِ الْغُمَيْصَاءُ بِنْتُ مِلْحَانَ أُمُّ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith tells us about a special moment in the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He entered paradise and heard a noise that sounded like footsteps. When he asked who it was, he was told that it belonged to Ghumaisa, daughter of Milhan and mother of Anas b. Malik. This hadith teaches us that even in paradise there are people who are remembered for their good deeds on earth; this is an encouragement for us to do good deeds so we can be remembered even after our death! It also shows us how much respect Prophet Muhammad had for his family members; he recognized his mother's voice even in paradise!
