Not Dyeing Hair and Avoiding White Hair Removal

SUMMARY: It is not recommended to pick out white hair from one's head or beard, and the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) did not dye his hair.

Anas b. Malik did not like that a person should pick out his white hair from his head or beard, and Allah's Messenger did not dye, and there was some whiteness in his hair at his chin, on his temples and very little on his head.

QUICK LESSONS:
Accept the natural process of aging gracefully; strive for inner beauty; be content with what Allah has given us; avoid removing white hairs from your head or beard; do not dye your hair artificially.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about avoiding the removal of white hairs from one's head or beard. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) did not dye his hair despite having some whiteness in it on his chin, temples and a little bit on his head. This suggests that it is better to accept the natural process of aging rather than trying to cover up any signs of it with artificial means such as dying one's hair. It also implies that we should be content with what Allah has given us and strive for inner beauty rather than outer beauty which fades away over time.
