Sahih Muslim 2325 (Book 43, Hadith 101) #13126
Caring for the Prophet's Hair

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad's companions were eager to ensure that no hair should fall from his head except into the hands of a person.

Anas reported: I saw when the Messenger of Allah got his hair cut by the barber, his Companions came round him and they eagerly wanted that no hair should fall but in the hand of a person.

QUICK LESSONS:
Show respect and care towards elders
EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Anas ibn Malik speaks of the care and respect that the companions of the Prophet Muhammad had for him. They were so devoted to him that they wanted to make sure not a single strand of his hair fell without being collected in someone’s hand. This shows how much love and reverence they had for their beloved prophet and how much they wanted to protect him from any harm or disrespect. It also serves as an example for us today on how we should treat our elders with respect and care.
