QUICK LESSONS:
Speak positively or remain silent
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the importance of speaking positively or remaining silent when witnessing something. It is narrated by both Jarir and Abdullah ibn Umar that Prophet Muhammad said that those who believe in Allah and the Hereafter should speak kindly about what they witness or remain quiet. This hadith emphasizes the power of positive speech; it teaches us that we should think before we speak so as not to hurt others with our words. We must remember that our words have an impact on those around us; therefore, we must strive to use kind words even when faced with difficult situations. Additionally, this hadith also encourages us to practice self-control by keeping silent if we cannot find anything positive to say about a situation. By doing so, we can avoid unnecessary arguments and disagreements which can lead to further conflict between people.
