Sahih Muslim 2314b (Book 43, Hadith 82) #13107
Fulfilling Promises After The Passing of The Prophet

SUMMARY: When the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) passed away, Abu Bakr asked those who were owed money or had any promises from the Prophet to come forward.

Jabir b. 'Abdullah reported: When Allah's Apostle died, there came to Abfi Bakr wealth from al-'Ala' b. al-Hadrami. Abu Bakr said: He to whom Allah's Apostle owed any debt or held out any promise should come to us; the rest of the hadith is the same.

QUICK LESSONS:
Keep your word and fulfill your obligations
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about fulfilling promises and debts after the passing of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It is narrated by Jabir b. 'Abdullah that when the Prophet ﷺ passed away, Abu Bakr asked those who were owed money or had any promises from him to come forward and receive what was due to them. This teaches us that it is important for us to fulfill our obligations even after someone has passed away, as this was a practice of our beloved prophet ﷺ himself. We should also strive to keep our word and fulfill all our commitments in life, as this is an important part of being a good Muslim and living an honorable life according to Islamic teachings.
