QUICK LESSONS:
Listen attentively when someone important speaks.

EXPLANATIONS:
Umm Salama reported that she heard Allah's Apostle speaking while he was sitting on the pulpit. She was getting her hair combed at that time and asked whoever was combing her hair to leave it alone so she could listen to what he said. He said, "O people!" The rest of the hadith is not mentioned here but it is assumed that he continued his speech after this point. This hadith teaches us that we should always be attentive and listen carefully when someone important like a prophet or religious leader speaks, as they may have something important to say. We should also respect their words and take them seriously, as they are coming from a place of knowledge and wisdom.
