Sahih Muslim 2268a (Book 42, Hadith 27) #12989
The Reality of Dreams

SUMMARY: Seeing the Prophet in a dream is true, and one should not tell anyone about their dreams as it is a form of vain sport of the devil.

Jabir reported Allah's Messenger as saying: He who saw me in sleep in fact saw me, for it is not possible for the satan to appear in my form; and he also said: When any one of you sees a hulm he should not inform anyone, for it is a sort of vain sport of devil in the state of sleep.

QUICK LESSONS:
Keep secrets regarding your dreams; Seek guidance from Allah instead of relying on own interpretations for them; Respect what Prophet Muhammad said regarding dreaming about him; Be mindful that some things seen in sleep may be false creations by satan .

EXPLANATIONS:
Dreams are an important part of our lives, and they can be interpreted in many ways. This hadith tells us that if we see the Prophet Muhammad in our dreams, then it is true and not just something made up by our minds. However, we should not tell anyone about these dreams because they could be a form of vain sport from the devil. This means that even though we may think something good has happened to us or someone else in our dream, it could actually be something bad or false created by the devil to deceive us. Therefore, it is best to keep these kinds of dreams to ourselves and seek guidance from Allah instead.
