Generosity and Kindness in Islam

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the importance of being generous and kind to others.

This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of 'Uthman b. Abu al-'As with a slight variation of wording.
وَحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ الثَّقَفِيِّ، قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ‏.‏ ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِهِمْ

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that charity should be given even if it is just a smile or a kind word as these small acts can make a big difference in someone’s life. He also said that Allah loves those who are generous and kind to others, so by following this teaching we can gain Allah’s love too!
