Praying for Healing of the Sick

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) visiting the sick and praying for their healing.

'A'isha reported Allah's Messenger as saying: When Allah's Messenger visited the sick he would say: Lord of the people. remove the disease, cure him, for Thou art the great Curer, there is no cure but through Thine healing Power, which leaves nothing of the disease.
وَحَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَانَ إِذَا عَادَ مَرِيضًا يَقُولُ ‏ "‏ أَذْهِبِ الْبَاسَ رَبَّ النَّاسِ اشْفِهِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي لاَ شِفَاءَ إِلاَّ شِفَاؤُكَ شِفَاءً لاَ يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the importance of prayer when it comes to healing. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) would visit those who were ill and pray for their recovery. He would ask God to remove their disease and cure them as only God has the power to do so. He believed that no other form of medicine or cure could be as effective as God's healing power. This hadith teaches us that we should always turn to prayer in times of need and rely on God's mercy for our healing. It also reminds us that we should never forget to pray for those who are suffering from illness or any other kind of hardship in life.
