Respectful Seating During Congregational Prayer

SUMMARY: One should not take the place of another person in a congregational prayer on Friday without asking for permission.

Jabir reported Allah's Apostle (may peace he upon him) as saying: None amongst you should make his brother stand on Friday (during the congregational prayer) and then occupy his-place. but he should only say to him (Accommodate me).

QUICK LESSONS:
Ask permission before taking someone else's seat in a congregational prayer on Fridays.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about respecting others and being mindful of their space when attending a congregational prayer on Fridays. It is narrated by Jabir ibn Abdullah that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that no one should make their brother stand up from his place during the Friday prayer and take it for themselves without asking for permission first. This teaches us to be considerate of others and to always ask before taking something that does not belong to us. We must also remember to be respectful when we are in a group setting, especially during religious gatherings such as prayers or sermons.
