Ibn Mas'ud reported: The Messenger of Allah said to me: The sign that you have been permitted to come in is that the curtain is raised or that you hear me speaking quietly until I forbid you.

QUICK LESSONS:
Seek permission before entering any place.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of seeking permission before entering a place. The Prophet Muhammad PBUH instructed Ibn Mas’ud that if he wanted to enter a place, he should look for signs such as the curtain being raised or hearing someone speaking quietly until they forbid him from entering. This hadith teaches us about respect and politeness, as it is important to seek permission before entering any place, whether it be someone’s home or office. It also teaches us patience and humility, as we must wait for permission before entering and not assume that we can just go in without asking first.
