Be mindful of traditions & customs when it comes to naming oneself or others around them.

This hadith is about the tradition of naming in Islam. The Prophet Muhammad initially wanted to forbid his followers from giving certain names such as Ya'la, Baraka, Aflah, Yasar and Nafi'. However, he did not follow through with this decision before his death. Later on, Umar also wanted to prohibit people from using these names but eventually gave up on this idea. This hadith teaches us that although we should be mindful of our traditions and customs when it comes to naming our children or others around us, we should also be open-minded and considerate of other opinions as well. We should always strive for a balance between tradition and modernity when making decisions about how we name ourselves or others around us.
