This hadith encourages people to use the name of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in their names, but not to use his kunya Abu’l Qasim. The narrator is Jabir b. Abdullah who reported Allah's Messenger ﷺ as saying. The gist of this hadith is that it is encouraged for people to take on and pass down the name of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, however they should avoid using his Kunya ‘Abu’l Qasim’ which was given due to him distributing spoils and knowledge among others. This hadith teaches us about respecting and honouring our beloved prophet by taking on his blessed name and passing it down through generations.
